In case there is real danger you smart house will automatically send a distress call to police or fire department. Smart house allows us to control audio systems from literally wherever. Usually, multimedia devices are installed in one room while speakers can be dispersed throughout the house. This particular architecture of multimedia system allows you to customize and define certain “zones”. Zones are parts of house which would share a same multimedia content. For example, living room would be a different multimedia zone from the kitchen and library could be in the same multimedia zone with the work cabinet. KNX/EIB

KONNEX Society (KNX) was founded in 1999 in Brussels with an aim to promote one and single standard for building automation. First, it was a society of 9 members and 3 European societies which promote intelligent building systems (BatiBus, EIB and EHS). Because, KONNEX is based on EIB communication protocol, usually KNX/EIB symbol is used.

Since KNX is the open source and free standard, it offers high level of flexibility and wide specter of choices when it comes to equipments for your projects. There are more than 200 manufacturers of KNX compatible devices which have more than 7000 certified groups of products made for different applications. KNX society has partner contracts with more than 30 000 system integrators from 100 states around the world. KNX society works closely with 60 technical faculties and 150 educational centers.

KNX allows integration and programming of wide specter of products using the ETS software. All KNX products are thoroughly tested for their compatibility with EN 50090 and ISO/IEC 14543-3 standards which ensures that they will safely work in network. TP10, PL110, wireless, ethernet and optic mediums are often used for communication.
